For many First Nations people, talent and ambition are not the issue. Barriers can include limited exposure to industry, lack of networks, distance, cost, unfamiliar recruitment pathways, and entry requirements that overlook transferable skills and potential. Removing those barriers creates meaningful opportunity for individuals and communities, while helping industry build a broader, more resilient workforce across the sectors and services Australia relies on.
Building capability from day one
Pathways are strongest when they connect to genuine workforce demand, real roles, and operating environments where people can see how the industry works and develop capability that matters.
That starts with a practical question: what can someone contribute on day one, and how do we build the experience, confidence, and capability needed to progress from there?

Pathways disconnected from real workforce requirements rarely succeed. We work with industry partners to identify real roles that can provide a credible starting point for someone new to the sector.
Create more ways to enter
Traditional qualifications and recruitment pathways do not identify every capable person. We work with partners to explore lower-barrier and non-traditional entry points, including operational roles, traineeships, industry experiences, and recognition of transferable skills.
Support capability and progression
Getting staff onboard in only the beginning. We design the support model and work with partners to ensure the right preparation, supervision, exposure, and experience are in place for people to build confidence, judgement, technical understanding, and the capability to progress.
Creating opportunity within critical aviation operations
Gunggandji Aerospace is managing the operations centre at Adelaide Airport as part of South Australia’s State Police, Ambulance and Rescue Aviation Services partnership.
The delivery model embeds employment opportunities for First Nations South Australians directly into critical aviation operations. Foundational roles provide a practical entry point, with training, supervision, and exposure helping people build experience and capability within a live aviation environment.
For individuals, that creates a pathway into aviation that may not otherwise have existed. For industry, it helps build a broader, more capable workforce to support the critical aviation services communities rely on.
